Lots of pics. Lots and lots of them.

This post is brought to you entirely by Iphone photos. I just wanted to save a few "slice of life" pics for posterity. I should probably take pictures of my banged up baseboards and yogurt covered walls, but some things may be better left to the imagination. I don't really know if I'm coming or going these days so this is the best I've got. To prove my point, I need to tell a story about what happened right after this picture was taken.

This was day one of swim lessons.  I had to get in the water with them and I was concerned (justifiably!) about wrangling both of them. We walked to the pool with all our gear and I was coaching Walker the whole time about when he can and can't jump in, what's going to happen, blah, blah, blah. We got going and about halfway through the swim lesson I noticed I was still wearing my clothes! ALL MY CLOTHES! IN THE WATER! I had jumped in fully dressed and not noticed! When it finally dawned on me, I asked the other moms why on earth they didn't say something????? They all just sort of shrugged and said you never know what people want to do.......

I keep trying to teach Hayes how to eat with a spoon but he'd just rather cut out the middle man. He wants to get the job done.

Here's a before and after of him demolishing an apple.

See?? He doesn't mess around.

One member of the team wanted to serve and protect the Target shoppers. This is the same kid that didn't want to wear pj's to school on pajama day because "pajamas are for sleeping, CLOTHES are for school." He's loosening up.

Here he is on "wacky wednesday." He put serious thought into what would be appropriately wacky. A backwards shirt and sideways belt with mismatched shoes was a stretch for him. This picture makes me laugh because Walker is wearing a cape, beret, and rainboots for absolutely no reason.

I'm apparently loosening up too, because look at this.
I don't even know where to start with this situation other than to say I used many more baby wipes with the first two. This one just gets hosed down occassionally.

I have fun girlfriends that know how to camp, so we took our kids for a night. LOVE IT! I bet they "planted trees" for a solid hour. In 5 year old time, that might be 2 days.

Walker was a last minute addition to the party. We were close enough to run him home when he started losing steam. He partied hard and had fun while it lasted!

Here's Harris telling a story by the campfire.

I love this picture. Those boys are so solid that they make pink look masculine. They OWN their pink shirts.
On the zoo train. Yes, they're dressed alike again. I'd do it every day if possible.
The big boys got to go to Morgan's Wonderland again. I'm sure one day it will feel strange to think that my 5 and 3 year old were "the big boys."
Also, my brother turned 40! I got to attend a surprise party for him that his awesome girlfriend put together. Here is the birthday boy with two of his sisters.
And the birthday boy, circa 1978. Everyone has a commissioned portrait of themselves at age 5, right??

SUCH a great night!! I'm so glad I was able to be there to celebrate him. The very brief trip with no children was somewhat relaxing, too. It was so strange, a school bus drove by and no one said anything. My reflex now is to scream the name of any large vehicle we see.
That's all we've been doing. CAR TRANSPORTER!

“Neither this man nor his parents sinned,” said Jesus, “but this happened so that the works of God might be displayed in him. As long as it is day, we must do the works of him who sent me. Night is coming, when no one can work. While I am in the world, I am the light of the world.”
John 9:3-5
